Molly's Portrait SessionI'm game for any photo shoot that involves a limited window of opportunity at a phenomenal location. So when my longtime friend and high school classmate, Molly, sent me the following text: "Hey...there is this place in Orlando with a huge field of what looks like daisies with a huge lake behind it and I wanted to see if you wanted to come to Orlando and take some pics with me there. They are not fully in bloom yet but I drove past there today and they were starting. Probably in a couple weeks will be awesome...You interested?" My response was: "YES..SOUNDS COOL!!.." Seven days later, she texted me again: "The flowers are blooming!!! I passed them this morning." And within 30 hours, I'm in my car driving up to Orlando to capture this amazing field of wild sunflowers and Molly -- who was perfectly dressed in a chic safari ensemble. Looking at these photos, you'd think we were out in the African Serengeti (Katy Perry's catchy little song "Roar" comes to mind)...or even somewhere out in the Midwest? Well, we definitely weren't in some wild or remote location -- actually just off the side of a toll road highway (Toll 417 northbound near Lake Jesup, to be exact) during rush hour traffic. Ha!!! Gotta love it! Best $3.50 in tolls I ever spent. The only thing "wild" about it besides the flowers were the honking cars of intrigued passers-by! It cracked us up and made it that much easier to photograph Molly having a good time. How could one not smile at the sight of all these happy yellow flowers in full bloom?! Here are the photographs from that very fun, late afternoon in October... Comments
