Here's my number, so call me maybe!

Hot off the press! My new and glossy business cards have arrived from MOO and I'm so excited to pass them out! Both sides are in beautiful, rich color, finished with a lustrous gloss UV coating. Fancy! There are ten different images on the backside (all of which are my own photographs), and I can change them out to new images the next time I order some more, which I hope is soon because I plan to give these out like hot cakes!

It was so much fun designing them - something I could not do until I came up with my photography business name, which was a challenging and lengthy process in and of itself! I did not want to settle on just "Grace O'Connor Photography." I knew I was more creative than this. Besides, there is already a photographer with my same name out in Montgomery, Alabama! Yikes! Just remember, this Grace (Arbizo) O'Connor is based out of Tampa, Florida! Anyways, I wanted just one, simple, and unique word that said it all, and it would be a bonus if it somehow incorporated my name in it (be it the first, middle, last, married or maiden name, or a combination of it all). But probably most importantly, it had to be a name where somebody did not already own the domain name for a website. Aaaahhhh!!!! Ok, no pressure.

So not until a few months after getting my camera this past winter, starting to build my portfolio (which I'm still doing), and going through maybe seven (eight?) different viable business names did I come up with... PHOTOGRACEY. There it was. One word. Simple and to the point. It had my first name and it obviously had something to do with photography. Genius! (if I do say so myself). And what I loved so much about it was that visually and audibly, it was like the word PHOTOGRAPHY... with a slight switch of two letters. So just like photography, the pronunciation is: pho-tog-rah-see. Although my husband likes photo-grace-ee. Well, it happily works either way but for the record, it is pho-tog-rah-see. Has a certain ring to it, don't cha think?

So here they are, my beautiful business cards. Complete with my website address (which the domain name was available to me, thank goodness!), Facebook page, email address, and business phone number. I also designed the logo and the hot air balloon icon (which has a very special meaning to me) myself.

And when I say designed, I didn't mean that I went to a graphic designer to make it for me. No way! I meant...it was me, my Wacom Intuos pen tablet, several mock-ups and rejected versions, and Adobe Illustrator for 36 hours and no sleep. I'm the do-it-yourself type!

So now I am proudly ready to network, schedule meetings, enter business card drawings for "free lunch," and personally hand out these gorgeous pieces of cardstock! Call me maybe?? Call me definitely!
