I had the pleasure of meeting the Shavers family for the first time this past March in Orlando. I had worked as a freelance production assistant on the set of a commercial photo shoot, in which they were cast as models in. In getting to know the parents inbetween setups, I found out that I actually went to school with Tommy and Tomica at the University of Central Florida -- we were all in the Communications program at about the same time in the late '90s (I studied Radio/TV Broadcasting). It was great meeting fellow UCF alumni and they were such a sweet couple and great parents to sons TJ and Micah. At the end of the day, we exchanged telephone numbers as we had talked about working together on getting new photographs done for Tommy and the boys for their modeling comp cards; Tommy also needed some new headshots and images for his speaking, training, and consulting website. We did the shoot at the end of May on a beautiful Sunday morning -- prior to, during, and after Tommy's ministry service. It was so easy-going and felt as if I had indeed known the Shavers since college days. In addition, both TJ and Micah are such well-behaved young men and loving brothers to each other. They are incredibly sweet and friendly and it made my job that much easier and fun -- such professionals at a young age! It is no doubt that their good manners and sweet disposition are a testament to their wonderful parents, Tommy and Tomica! Go Knights!
