Shark Week on the Discovery Channel is upon us and I was so excited to be invited by my good friend and USA Today travel journalist Sarah Sekula to come watch her shoot a video story at The Florida Aquarium. She interviewed shark cinematographer Joe Romeiro and together they count down the top five best places in the world to spot these deadly creatures... from INSIDE the shark tank! Because not only is Sarah a well-traveled writer, she is also a certified scuba diver. It was an awesome video shoot and I was thrilled to go "behind the scenes" with Sarah, her crew, and the sharks!

Below me (literally): tiger sharks!   Photographer/videographer Preston Mack setting up his shot.  Once Sarah, Joe, and the aquarium dive staff went in, the rest of us went back down to the shark tank viewing area.  The tiger sharks were swimming all around and safety divers held "shark wands" to fend them off just in case.   The "Top 5" countdown begins using the special underwater writing slate.
